Star Wars fans will be able to explore a galaxy far, far away in December thanks to a VR experience from Disney in collaboration with Google.

Star Wars fans are counting down the days to the release of The Force Awakens, but there are some Star Wars experiences to keep them entertained and distracted in the meanwhile. Disney is to release a serialised VR experience designed for Google Cardboard on December 2nd.

This experience "ties directly" into the opening of The Force Awakens, making it a must for Star Wars fans. Disney and Google announced this project on StarWars.com.

The statement read: “Coming on December 2 is a new virtual reality experience developed along with Google and Verizon. This will feature the first-of-its-kind serialized Google Cardboard Virtual Reality (VR) experience that combines a compelling story, which ties directly into the opening of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, with the very latest cutting-edge Virtual Reality technology.”

“The Google Cardboard Virtual Reality experience will live in the official Star Wars app and is available on both iOS and Android devices.”

Star Wars fans can also alter how their online experience looks thanks to the partnership between Google and Disney. Google’s recently launched Star Wars site lets you choose between the two sides of the Force and alters the appearances of apps based on your choice.
