Star Citizen set for VR this year

Star Citizen is pretty much the biggest game ever, and it's heading into the realm of virtual reality very soon indeed
Star Citizen is the biggest crowdfunded game ever, with the support of a huge number of users and a budget that's now over $104 million. That's just nuts.
With all that cash, it's reasonable to expect that Roberts Space Industries will be delivering plenty of value to players when the thing actually becomes a real-life playable game and the latest addition comes in the form of the very topical virtual reality.
Company CEO Chris Roberts took time out of his end of years livestream to chat about VR. With the world of Star Citzen based on creating a first person universe, VR makes a lot of sense and we're also finally at the stage where the headsets are close to becoming an actual reality.
"So it’s really just a matter of getting some engineering time in the Frankfurt team. The Frankfurt team… [includes many of] the guys that originally did the VR work at Crytek so they know it pretty well but I would be expecting it to get up to speed with the most recent [VR] stuff sometime early next year."
Next year is this year and with the imminent release of the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift, you can expect a lot more news on how this new technology will work with the deep dark of space over the next few weeks and months. It's interesting to note that Roberts confirmed all headsets will be supported, something which few other games are including at this time.
As of right now, we still have no idea when the game will actually release though!
