Spotify has a massive 30 million subscribers
Spotify has announced that their music streaming service now has over 30 million subscribers worldwide - that's a lot of listening
Spotify is just a little popular, with the music streaming service recently announcing it had crossed the threshold of 30 million subscribers around the world.
The news came from CEO Daniel Ek who casually dropped in the info into a tweet about Cuba.
Spotify typically hasn't been in the habit of announcing its subscriber base, preferring to comment only when major milestones are reached, and this definitely qualifies. The latest figures suggest that Spotify is picking up around 10 million new users every year. And that's in the face of stiff competition from the likes of Apple Music, which has earned around 11 million subscribers since it launched in mid 2015.
