Sony will reportedly release four variants in the Xperia Z6 series, one of which could be the Xperia Z6 Lite, which recently had its specs leaked.
2016 looks set to be a busy year for Sony, as reports and leaks indicate that the smartphone manufacturer will have four or five Xperia Z6 series handsets to launch. A new report indicates that the Z6 Lite variant will take one of these slots.
The Sony Xperia Z6 Lite, according to Chinese website Mobile Dad, is tipped to feature a 5-inch display, putting it somewhere between the Xperia Z6 Compact and the Xperia Z6. It’s said to utilise the hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 SoC and feature a metal rear panel.
It’s reported that the Xperia Z6 Lite will be released in May and cost around $385.
As for Sony’s other variants, it’s believed two will be given the flagship treatment and will boast the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. One flagship handset will reportedly launch in June with another following in October.
Expect to hear more regarding Sony’s official plans for the coming year at Mobile World Congress in February.
