The Apple iPhone isn't the most robust of devices but that hasn't stopped people from doing all manner of horrible things to it

The world is in love with the iPhone, with the smartphone brand still the most popular handset range around. That popularity also breeds some pretty strange behaviour when it comes to the internet.

For example, throughout the years iPhones have been subjected to the most extreme and horrifying forms of torture. They've been burned and smashed and melted. They've been shot with sniper rifles and field guns and crushed in industrial grade equipment, and it's often been captured in eye searing slow motion. People seem to like seeing these expensive items being trashed, and in the event of the devices ever becoming sentient... well they'll have a lot of reasons for revenge.

The latest video evidence questions what would happen if a shiny iPhone 6s tried to make friends with molten tar. Here's how that fateful meeting went.

Needless to say, no one is going to be making any calls with this iPhone again, with the internals hopelessly fried. The interesting part is that the device it self was barely damaged on the outside and ends up pretty clean instead of bursting into flame in an interesting fashion. So you're probably safe from actual fire if you do find something like this happening in real life.
