Resident Evil 2 is a full-on remake
Capcom has clarified that the upcoming release of Resident Evil 2 is a remake, not a remaster as was stated in the translation of its investor report.
Capcom has confirmed that the upcoming Resident Evil 2 release will be a remake from the ground up rather than a remaster.
Capcom UK's senior marketing director Stuart Turner said that the statement that it would be a “remaster” in the publisher’s recent investor report was a mistranslation. He took to Twitter to inform fans that it will be a remake.
Seems to be a few people picking up a mistranslation in our own investor report. RE2 will be a full from the ground up remake NOT a remaster— Stuart Turner (@OnlyOneT) December 3, 2015
In August, Capcom said, “You've been telling us for years that you want Resident Evil 2 to be remade, and we haven't been able to make it happen...until now! We at R&D Division 1 will do our best to take on your feedback and deliver the gameplay experience you've been waiting for."
While the game was announced in August, details are still being kept under wraps. There’s yet to be any screenshots or video released from the game, while its release date is still to be confirmed.
