Remedy has registered a trademark for Alan Wake's Return, indicating that a sequel could be on the horizon at last.
A sequel to Alan Wake looks to be on the way. After acquiring the alanwakesreturn.com domain last year, Remedy has now registered the Alan Wake’s Return trademark.
The developer has been thinking about a sequel for some time. Remedy boss Sam Lake has said, "I definitely want to create something new for Alan Wake when the time is right." Last year, the developer gave fans a look at some old Alan Wake 2 prototype work. So the cogs have been turning.
The timing may be right for an Alan Wake sequel. Remedy’s upcoming Quantum Break comes with a backwards compatible copy of the original Alan Wake and the DLC for Xbox 360 if you purchase Quantum Break on Xbox One. Those who pre-order the title will get a backwards compatible version of Alan Wake’s American Nightmare.
