The PlayStation Network will be down on the 19th of April for an update and maintenance with all services affected
Sony has announced that the PlayStation Network will have some scheduled down time this week on the 19th of April.
As systems and services will be affected by the outage, including PS4, PS3, PS Vita and the PlayStation Store. It will begin at 5.30am on the 19th and end by 7.30am on the same day. PlayStation has said that it shouldn't affect users too much: "Anyone who already has an account can still sign in to their PlayStation™Network profile, play games, and use most applications while this maintenance is carried out. You will not be able to access Account Management, PlayStation Video, and PlayStation Store during this maintenance. We apologize for any inconvenience."
This will be of note to anyone who happened to be interested in buying something in the very early hours of a Tuesday. Of course Sony hopes that nothing else will go down during the maintenance, but it's probably not the best time to be playing anything online.
This post recommends setting your PS4 as your primary console before the outage: "To activate your console, sign in to your PlayStation™Network profile and select [Settings] > [PlayStation™Network/Account Management] > [Activate as Your Primary PS4] > [Activate]. You only need to do this once."
