Oculus Rift is actually going to be available to buy in 2016 and it's going to have plenty of added value with two free titles
Oculus Rift is actually coming out in early 2016, with the long talked-about virtual reality revolution finally upon us.
We've previously heard that the device will be getting some extra added value with the addition of space dog fighting game Eve Valkyrie in the box and now it seems there will be a second title for each and every user. Lucky's Tale is a bright and colourful platformer with shades of Ratchet and Clank and a cute fox protagonist, and you'll get it for free with Oculus.
Here's a trailer.
Let's be honest - it couldn't look more basic and the graphics look like they could have shown up in the PS2 era. In this case the selling point is supposed to be that you can use the Oculus Rift to peer into this other world, controlling the perspective of the camera with your head. That seems to mean that the angle is otherwise quite fixed, which can be a real problem for platformers. Let's just say we're not really convinced this way of looking at games is going to catch on.
Still, we're not going to say no to free things.
Oculus Rift is coming in 2016 - pricing has yet to be revealed.
