Nintendo NX controller leaked image - looks uncomfortable
Nintendo hasn't confirmed the release date of their new NX console yet but that hasn't stopped the many recent leaks of the controller
Nintendo has been whispering about a new console for a few months now, with rumours suggesting the NX (probably not its final name) could show up as early as 2017. And now we've got the latest of many leaks of what might be the systems controller.
The new image is the clearest look yet at the very unique controller, which is said to be mostly composed of a screen with two joysticks embedded in the surface. We're going to go ahead and assume that the rest of the pad is touch sensitive, potentially making complex interactions with the system a possibility.
The rumour that thsi is a screen makes it seem like an evolutionary step on from the Wii U, which allowed players to engage with titles without having to use the TV. Consider this a combination of the Wii U pad and the PS Vita, and that seems to carry through into the design.
Presumably there will also be another element to the new system, a console box like the Wii U and others that would connect directly to your TV. We haven't had any indications on that hardware yet but with so many leaks of the controller over the last few weeks surely it's just a matter of time.
More as we get it.
