New Apple phone could have a different name
It's looking increasingly likely that the new Apple smartphone could be a smaller screen size and might have a different name
It has been widely rumoured that Apple is working on a new addition to its smartphone lineup, with a 4 inch model set to debut as early as March 2016.
The handset was said to be called the iPhone 5se and would be a faster version of the old iPhone 5 but that seems to have changed. 9to5mac reports that a source close to the project says that the phone will not just be called the iPhone SE.
It might not sound like a huge change but that would make this the first iPhone to not feature a number in the name, and suggests a new splinter group of handsets from the company. It also might just make good business sense - rather than suggesting the handset dates back to 2013 with the '5' tag they could instead by leaning on the fact that it's special enhanced edition of the phone, with a pocket sized screen and some really strong internal specs.
The phone is said to look pretty much the same as the iPhone 5s and to also include new features like Live Photos, NFC and an A9 processor. These details are still rumours but are likely to be pretty accurate, with a full announcement coming on the 15th of March 2016.
