A number of Android smartphone manufacturers are said to be following in Apple's footsteps with the inclusion of 3D Touch-like displays.

3D Touch-like displays are being tipped to become the next big thing in the smartphone industry with the main Android phone manufacturers in China likely to utilise them in future handsets.

According to a report from GizmoChina, the likes of Xiaomi, Meizu, Oppo, and Vivo are to include versions of the technology in their upcoming devices. A 3D Touch display is already a part of this year’s iPhones, while Huawei has dabbled with the technology in the Mate S.

The report also indicates that HTC will feature a pressure sensitive display on the Nexus device that it is reportedly building for Google this year.

While Samsung and LG decided against the pressure-sensitive display on the Galaxy S7 and the G5, it may only be a matter of time before these manufacturers follow suit, particularly if all the major Chinese manufacturers release phones featuring the technology.
