LG announced that it will release two flagship handsets, likely to be the G5 and the V11, this year. Expect the G5 to be unveiled at MWC 2016.
LG officially confirmed that it is to release two flagship phones in 2016.
The South Korean manufacturer appears to be feeling the effects of increased competition, but believes that it's in a good spot. "The smartphone marketplace is expected to be increasingly competitive in 2016 due to anticipated premium models from competitors and further price competition within the mass tier space," LG said.
"The introduction of two new flagship models and a more cost-competitive value chain is expected to improve profitability in 2016."
This isn't the first time that LG plans to release two flagship handsets in the one year. Just last year, LG released the LG G4 and the LG V10. It's likely that we'll see the successors to these devices this year.
The LG G5 is expected to be released at MWC 2016. Meanwhile, the LG V10 only launched in October 2015, so it's unlikely that we'll see the V11 until later this year.
