There's a bug impacting the iPhone 6S that causes the battery percentage not to update even though the device is losing charge.

Those travelling may find that their iPhone 6S isn’t showing them the correct battery percentage, but Apple is aware of the issue and working to solve it. In the meantime, there is a workaround to manually correct it.

The error seemingly occurs when you switch time zones automatically or change the time on the device manually. This causes the battery percentage not to update, even though the iPhone 6S is losing charge.

The Apple Support page says that you should:

  • Restart your iPhone
  • Once it’s rebooted, got to Settings > General > Date and Time
  • Make sure “Set Automatically” is switched to “On”

This issue is unlikely to impact a majority of iPhone 6S users, but it’s an annoying one if you travel frequently.
