Instagram is set to increase the video recording time to 60 seconds in an upcoming update, something it has already done for advertisers
Instagram video has been around for a good long while but with a pretty big restriction - a running time of just 15 seconds. Thankfully that's finally about to change with a new update.
From today, you'll be able to post up to 60 seconds of footage to your feed, according to the latest news from Instagram. They're keen to give their users more flexibility to be creative and iOS folks will even be able to string together multiple recorded clips, which should really expand on those possibilities. Instagram already allowed for advertisers to post videos longer than 15 seconds so it was just a matter of time before everyone else got in on the action.
There's even more vertical video on the way. Sigh...
The update is starting to arrive on iOS and Android today but it will take a few months to reach everyone.
