GOG introduces Early Access games
You can now purchase games that are in-development from GOG.com, but the titles included in the early access program will be hand-picked.
GOG.com is introducing a new feature, which sees the addition of early access games to the store.
It's not a new concept, but the games store says it's doing this "the GOG way." This means that CD Projekt Red, who run the store as well as develop titles like The Witcher 3, will hand-pick games that make it into the program and will offer no-questions-asked refunds for a period of two weeks.
GOG managing director Piotr Karwowski said, "Our goal has always been to offer a selection of titles that are both excellent and worth your time. Nowadays, we're seeing more games that are already great experiences while still in development."
"We want all gamers on GOG.com to have access to what these titles have to offer, but we want to get it right, carefully evaluating each and every game, offering a 14-day refund policy, and providing GOG Galaxy support with update rollback and more."
Starbound, Ashes of the Singularity, Project Zomboid, TerraTech, and Curious Expeditions are the first titles to be included in GOG's early access program. More games will be added in the future.
