Star Wars Battlefront isn't out for everyone yet but that doesn't mean you shouldn't get ready for the big day with this app

Star Wars Battlefront is out for everyone from the 17th of November 2015 but if you happen to be on Xbox One and have the EA Early Access pass thing you'll be able to get playing today. You lucky sods.

And you won't have to do it alone, because EA and DICE have just released the game's companion app. It's on iOS and Android and let's you take a look at things like your character loadout, in case you really wanted to check out your spec while you were on the bus on the way home from work. Because that might even be a thing real people do.

You can also keep an eye on the progress of your connected friends, if you have any, and see your progress towards the next glorious unlock which takes you that step closer to being a Jedi master, or a nasty Sith. There's even a mini game on board which is some kind of universe specific tower defence thing.

“Base Command is a fun and accessible way to bring your Star Wars Battlefront Star Cards into another context and play with them there,” Game Designer Tommy Rydling explains. “It’s a snack-sized mobile game, perfect when you’re commuting and want to remain in the Star Wars Battlefront universe.”

The app content is also available online if you want to log in that way.

Star Wars Battlefront comes to PS4, Xbox One and PC from the 17th of November 2015.
