Gear of War 4 is set to continue the over the top action antics featuring incredibly muscly people, and it's coming very soon
Gears of War 4 is coming on the 11th of October 2016.
The news was just announced by Adam Fletcher of The Coalition, the new development team which is taking on the challenge of bringing this epic franchise back. This will be the first time they've tackled an entirely new game in the series, with the team cutting their teeth on the creation of Gears of War Ultimate Edition for Xbox One and PC.
That was surely a big enough challenge, making the game fresh again after almost a decade, but what comes next is fairly huge. Gears 4 will introduce an entirely new cast of characters for the first time, in events 25 years after the third game. The Locust threat is gone but the world has been brought low, with only a few hundered thousand people left in walled off cities. You'll play as JD Fenix, son of Marcus, working with a new team to combat an enemy that's just rising from the shadows.
It's going to be epic stuff.
In the meantime, a multiplayer beta for the game is about to kick off on Xbox One, with gamers who played Gears of War ultimate edition set to be invited to take part from the 18th of April.
