First look at VR adventure The Climb
Crytek has released footage and screenshots from its VR mountaineering-adventure game, The Climb, in which players will scale cliff and rock faces.
Crytek is known for pushing the boundaries of technology and producing exceptional looking games. So it's no wonder that it's delving into the world of virtual reality games. Today, it showed off its VR mountaineering game, The Climb.
The Climb will let players scale cliffs that they may not even imagine doing in real life. In the trailer, you can see some of the stunning sights on offer, the terrifying drops you'll be faced with, and the disembodied hands of the protagonist. We must play as Rayman...
The upcoming game will feature three levels of difficulty in a variety of locations. Players will be timed as they scale these cliff faces. But immersion is what Crytek is aiming for, so we're guessing that admiring the view won't be discouraged.
The Climb's technology was previously shown off in a VR demo that featured dinosaurs. Those have been removed from this game, but will feature in an entirely separate game called Robinson: The Journey, which Crytek is currently working on.
The Climb is set to be one of the flagship titles for the Oculus Rift VR headset.
