Final Fantasy VI is coming to Steam - Here's the announcement trailer
Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy VI will be released on Steam, complete with updated controls, achievements, and trading cards.
Square Enix is delving into its back catalogue of late; it recently released a port of Final Fantasy VII on PlayStation 4, is working on a complete remake of the same title, and just announced that Final Fantasy VI is coming to PC.
It was originally released in 1994, but will finally be released on PC more than 20 years later. Final Fantasy VI on Steam will have updated controls and an "active-time battle system optimised for fluid combat for PC." As you'd expect, the game will also feature Steam Achievements and Trading cards.
Final Fantasy VI on Steam will be available on December 16th. At the time of writing, it will unlock in "approximately 6 days and 7 hours." So, if this is the Final Fantasy game you've been waiting for, you now know when you need to have Steam open.
