Fallout 4 has plenty of content to go around, with more on the way, but a fan favourite feature will also soon be offered for free
Fallout 4 is already a huge game, and there's more content on the way via DLC, but some fans were disappointed by the lack of a hardcore version of this post apocalytpic jaunt. Developers Bethesda have listened and Survival mode is on the way.
The latest news is that it's set for a beta on PC via Steam, and that will kick off the release elsewhere.
Survival mode update. Once it's out of PC beta it'll go to Steam release and we can submit for consoles. https://t.co/glWCJv3Nke
This new mode adds more than a touch of realism to proceedings, making it impossible to save without finding a bed to sleep in, for example. You'll also have to stay hydrated and fed or you'll suffer stat penalties and each and every bullet in your inventory has its own weight. There's no fast travel, all damage is multipled (including the hits you deal out) and you'll even be able to become over tired or sick, forcing you to craft antibiotics to get not dead.
It sounds like a real challenge, which is just what some crazy fans are looking for!
The Surivival mode will be available on Steam as part of the beta program next week, with a full PC and console release to follow.
