Facebook reactions rolling out to the rest of the world

Facebook reactions started out with a pilot programme in Ireland and now the rest of the world is getting in on the action

Facebook reactions arrived in Ireland late last year, expanding the list of ways you could respond quickly to a post well beyond a mere like. These responses have been making it easier to respond to posts which are a bit more complicated - sometimes a like doens't quite capture the spirit of what you're trying to say.

Ireland and Spain were the first countries to receive this new functionality and now everyone else is going to get to see what we've been talking about. Just hover over the 'like' button and more options will pop out, including love, haha, wow, sad and angry. Initially there were also two more options - yay and confused - but Facebook found that very few people were using them during the initial testing so they've whittled it down to six in total.

More ways to respond on Facebook is definitely a good move, and the feedback from the testing phase has been overwhelmingly positive. Of course if you actually want to get across how you feel about a post, you could always just type something!
