Facebook bringing huge data centre to Clonee Co Meath

Facebook is set to bring two thousand new jobs to Ireland with a major data centre in the works for Clonee Co. Meath

Facebook is getting ready to expand its operations in Ireland with the annoucement of a major new Data Centre.

The tech giant already has its European headquarters in Dublin, Ireland and has acquired a 227 acre site in Clonee Co. Meath. It will be the second data centre in Europe and should create up to 2000 new jobs in the area. It will also be powered by 100% renewable energy, including using air to cool the facility. The location near the sea means that air will have to be filtered for salt beforehand, in a no doubt complicated process.
