Thousands gathered in Belfast to watch the Easter Rising centenary parade, going to great lengths to get a vantage point, but nothing beats a drone's view.

Celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the 1916 Easter Rising took place across Ireland this weekend. While there was extensive coverage of the centenary parade in Dublin, thousands lined Falls Road in Belfast too.

If you couldn’t be there on the day, or you’d like a different perspective on the parade, SkyEye Belfast has uploaded a video of the Belfast parade. Using a drone, the channel captures the parade from above and even gets in among the parade at times. This is a spectacular view that few had the opportunity to experience.

The parade route went from the Garden of Remembrance to Milltown Cemetery, featuring men and women dressed in 1916 uniforms. Bands from Ireland, Britain, Europe, and even North America also took part, though their performances aren’t featured in the drone footage.

Those attending the parade went to great lengths to get a good perspective on the parade. But it’s hard to beat the vantage point that a drone offers.
