DLC for The Division detailed
The Division is launching next week and Ubisoft has revealed some of the upcoming DLC which will expand on the end of the world
The Division from Ubisoft already looks like a pretty huge game but there's more content to come with DLC down the line. This is certainly not a surprise and there will be a pretty typical Season Pass on offer for players. The details have just emerged so let's dive in.
It's pretty clear that Ubisoft has a long term plan for The Division, and you get a hint of that with this trailer which refers to 'Year One Content.'
There are new game types, including a wave based mode as well as updates to the Dark Zone. New story based areas are also planned, with an underground area to explore. In addition, the game is just going to keep getting more updates to ensure you check in as frequently as possible. This will include weekly challenges and other social engagement as well as the possibility of trading fancy loot between players.
These elements are all moving the game in more of an MMO direction but the base gameplay is still quite RPG focussed. That mix could be pretty compelling if its handled right, though we're a little disappointed not to see a pure story driven addition, maybe that could happen in year 2.
Some of this content is free, including the Incursions add on which is launching in April. We haven't heard about a price on this yet, but expect it to be €30 or more. The Division itself is out on March 8th.
