A court transcript from Oracle v Google has revealed just how many billions the OS has made Google. You may be blown away by this...
This is a figure that Google would have liked to keep under wraps. A court transcript from the Oracle v Google case has revealed how many billions Google has made from Android.
The court transcript, according to Bloomberg's report, says that Android has generated $31 billion in revenue and $22 billion in profit. Oracle attorney Annette Hurst is said to have based these astonishing figures on internal documents meant to be kept confidential.
"Why is Oracle taking on Google?" you may ask. Well, Oracle maintains that Android was built on Oracle Java software without paying for patents.
Google says that it didn't infringe on the patents and that some of those patents were invalid.
This isn't a recent case; the lawsuit has been going on since 2010 and it doesn't look like there's an end in sight.
