Oculus Rift is coming pretty soon, and it will be hoping to garner some extra attention by including a copy of Eve Valkyrie

2016 is set to be the year of virtual reality, with the Oculus Rift (and other VR headsets) finally arriving in shops.

Oculus is the most well known vr headset around, and it's set to be commercially available be the first quarter of 2016. To give potential users another incentive to pick one up as early as possible, anyone who pre orders the device will also get a free copy of Eve Valkyrie.

It's an all new game from the makers of Eve Online and it has been designed from the start with VR in mind. It's a futuristic space dog fighting sim which places you in a virtual cockpit where you can look around, a perfect scenario for VR. The final game will let you track enemies with your head while flying in a different direction and gives you a whole new perspective on this genre of game.

One of the most interesting parts of Valkyrie is that it is an entire game, and it will also be available to non VR folks. That means its one of the first commercially available full titles for virtual reality, and bundling it with Oculus Rift is a sign of confidence in the future of gaming with the device.

There's no specific word on a release date for Oculus or Valkyrie just yet - expect more in the new year.
