Amazon's Mozart in the Jungle gets third season
Amazon is fresh from Golden Globe glory with its web series Mozart in the jungle so they're bringing it back for even more
Mozart in the Jungle, a web series from Amazon, was the surprise winner of two Golden Globes last month - for best Comedy TV series and Best Actor in a TV Comedy. It was a surprise mostly because the show had next to no fanfare, arriving on Amazon's prime streaming service in late 2014 after a pilot programme and debuting a second season in December 2015. Then, out of nowhere, the awards came tumbling in.
It's a pretty huge achivement for Amazon, only a couple of years into their web series and they're already gaining great attention for Mozart, Transparent and The Man in the High Castle. So naturally they want to keep the hits coming, with confirmation of a third series for their latest triumph.
There's no word on when it will come or what it will be about but we're willing to bet on a late 2016 release and that it will continue the story of lead Gael Garcia Bernal as the conductor of a New York orchestra. It turns out a lot of stuff happens behind the scenes, which we suppose isn't that surprising.
The first two seasons are available to all Amazon Prime subscribers now.
