All the HTC 10 rumours ahead of tomorrow's event
HTC will unveil its latest flagship tomorrow at 1pm, but we've a good idea of what to expect. Here are all the rumours about the HTC 10.
HTC will unveil its newest flagship tomorrow, but a series of leaks over the last few months mean there may not be too many surprises. Here’s what’s expected from HTC’s flagship based on the rumours and leaks.
First up is the name. HTC appears to be dropping the “One M” from its naming convention, which means that its latest handset will simply be called the HTC 10.
A promotional video leaked recently giving us a very clear view at the handset and its design. As previously reported, the HTC 10 does away with the speaker grille design and it looks a little thinner than its predecessors. But HTC hasn’t gone for wholesale changes as you can see.
There’s nothing to get a sense of scale in the promotional video from, but the HTC 10 is tipped to feature a 5.2-inch quad HD display. Internally, the HTC 10 is expected to feature the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and a whopping 4GB RAM. There’s also 32GB storage and a 3,000mAh battery to be found inside.
HTC has teased that the new flagship will feature the “best BoomSound yet.” What that means is yet to be determined, so at least we’ve one element of the announcement to look forward to.
On the camera side of things, the HTC 10 is expected to feature a 12MP camera. Where the HTC 10 will supposedly shine is its front-facing camera. It is reported to feature a 5MP sensor, but its optical image stabilisation (OIS) is a world’s first and should result in some impressive selfie capabilities.
The HTC 10 is expected to be available in black, gold, and silver.
We’ll find out exactly what HTC has in store tomorrow at 1pm. The event is to be livestreamed on htc.com.
