3D printing is an amazing new technology which is helping to really change the lives of people and pets around the world
3D printing is becoming more and more widespread, and it's set to make a real difference to the lives of people and animals in the years to come.
An early pioneer in this emerging technology is Derby the dog. He was born with deformed front legs which meant that it would be impossible for him to move around easily in his life. An initial set of 3D printed legs gave him a chance to move around more easily and the latest version is even more impressive.
He's now higher than before, which will make it easier to keep mobile as his back is in a better position. One of the great advantages of 3D printing is being able to create new iterations on a design quickly and relatively cheaply, and also ensuring that the moulds are perfectly fitted to the user, in this case a very cute and enthusiastic dog.
He looks so happy when he's sitting!
Expect to hear a lot more from 3D Systems as this new technology helps more people and pets around the world in the years to come.
