AMAZON Kindle Fire owners are less satisfied than those who own an Apple iPad, according to a new survey.

Seventy-four per cent of those who own an iPad said that there were “very satisfied” with the device, compared to 54pc who said they felt the same about the Amazon tablet.

Kindle Fire owners were most pleased about the cost of the device, its colour screen and ease of use.

However, they were less happy about the fact that the tablet, which has to come to the UK, does not have a volume adjustor button, no camera and a smaller screen size than the iPad.

The pollsters were also unhappy about the device’s battery life being too short and the number of apps which are available through the Amazon app store.

The study was compiled by US research firm, Changewave, and polled 200 tablet-owning Americans. It also found that Kindle Fire owners were unhappy about the location of the of on/off button.
