Keywords plans IPO on AIM
Keywords Studios is planning a flotation on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM), an arm of the London Stock Exchange that caters for small to medium enterprises.
Providing niche video game services for Microsoft, EA and Disney, the firm is hoping to raise £10m in an effort to expand its operations globally. For year end 2012, Keywords reported revenues of £12.2m and a gross profit of €2.74m.
The firm employs 120 full time staff, provides localisation, audio and testing services for the video games industry – working for 15 of the 25 most prominent games companies in the world.
Products that Keywords has worked on include Guitar Hero, Pro Evolution Soccer 2013, Halo 4 and Farmville 2.
According to PwC’s Global Entertainment and Media Outlook 2013-2017, an annual growth rate of 6.5pc is predicted for the video games market to $86.9bn on by 2017 from $63.4bn in 2012.
