A cross-section of the Irish games industry will meet next week to discuss diversity in the area and celebrate the creativity of women in gaming.

To celebrate International Women's Day on Tuesday, March 8, DogPatch Labs will host an evening of discussion around diversity in the gaming sector.

The event will take place between 6.30pm and 9pm and will feature a series of short talks from women working in design, audio, writing, programming, network operations, and quality assurance.

Speakers will range from people employed in multinationals, to company founders and freelancers. The presentations will be followed by time for networking, game demos and refreshments.

The event, which will take place in the CHQ Building in the IFSC in Dublin, is organised by Vicky Twomey-Lee of Coding Grace and Gamecraft, and Dr. Aphra Kerr from Maynooth University and GameDevelopers.ie.

Ms Twomey-Lee and Dr Kerr are currently working together to promote discussions of diversity in the games industry in Ireland.

The event is free to attend, however  Attendance is by ticket only and numbers are limited by space, so please register in advance via bit.ly/iwd16-cg-games.
