How dear is your smartphone to your heart? Would you give up your dog for it?
Many of us adore our four (or two or six) legged pets as much as we love a family member. But what happens when you throw your smartphone into the mix?
Perhaps surprisingly, almost 20pc of Irish people would rather be without their furry friend than their hand held device.
While the majority of us may gasp in disbelief, the latest survey from Low.ie reveals that 1 in 10 of us (10.4pc) agreed they would rather lose our living pet than our gadget.
A further 8.92pc strongly agreed with the decision to drop their loyal pal when the question was poised.
Some 500 smartphone users were questioned in the study which also revealed that the purchase of a smartphone is a large investment for most Irish people, with almost two thirds of us (62.23pc) revealing their device is worth €300 or more.
Nonetheless, an incredible 75.05pc do not have their phone insured - despite over 40pc of respondents responding that their phones had either been damaged but repairable (32.32pc), broken beyond repair (8.28pc), lost or stolen (11.51pc) over the past two years.
