FACEBOOK is back up again for most users after it had earlier been unusable on all platforms.
The social network was down for more than 90 minutes tonight. Facebook suffered a similar outage last Thursday.
"We are currently restoring Facebook services that people had trouble accessing earlier today due to a configuration," Facebook spokesman Jay Nancarrow said.
"We are working to bring things back to normal for everyone," he added.
Facebook's error page said that the site was "working on it" and would "get it fixed as soon as we can". It the end, it was restored shortly before 10pm.
Earlier, for some users, the site seemed not to be appearing at all. For others, Facebook's own now slightly old-style error page was brought up when trying to access the site.
Facebook's own "Platform Status" page, which is used to communicate when the site is broken, why and when it will be fixed, also seemed to have been hit by the problem and was inaccessible.
