Eircom reveals new logo as part of €16m rebranding as eir

Eircom has revealed a new logo and rebrand - as eir.
The €16m new branding was launched by company boss Richard Moat and Communications Min Alex White.
The company also announced that it's rolling out home broadband services with download speeds of up to 1 gigabit per second in 15 communities around the country.
23,000 premises will have access to the eir 'Fibre Extreme' product immediately, which the company's claims is Ireland's fastest broadband.
No stranger to new owners and rebrands, the company is the former state-owned Telecom Eiireann,
Turnover at Eircom rose by 5pc to €325m in the three months to the end of June compared to the same period in 2014, the company recently reported.
The growth recorded in the period, which is the fourth quarter of the group's financial year, was the first quarterly year on year growth that the company recorded in seven years.
Full year sales at the firm stood at €1.26bn, down 1pc compared to the year before although earnings before deductions were up by 3pc to €481m.
Operating costs at the firm dropped by 7pc to €512m.
