The email, which includes the eir logo, tells customers they are entitled to a refund.
It asks them to login to their eir account but the link, which looks like and eir page, then asks for bank and card details.
The company has warned, however, that this is a phishing scam and it warned not to engage with the message in any way.
Here is what eir is telling customers:
• Never disclose any information particularly personal or financial information.
• Delete the SMS/MMS or email message immediately
• Never click on web links contained within such messages or download content associated with the message.
It also advised anyone who provided personal information should contact their bank or financial institution.
