Apple has released Move to iOS for Android. The free download will make it easier for Android users to make the switch to the iOS ecosystem.
Apple has released its first Android app, but it’s not a sign of a potential truce. The app, called Move to iOS, makes it easier to make the transition from Android to iOS.
Move to iOS makes it easier to move all your photos, messages, contacts, mail accounts, and calendar events to the iOS ecosystem. The process is securely done over a Wi-Fi network created by your new iPhone or iPad. And then you can use your iPhone or iPad with all your most important accounts and data in place.
Before you can have a change of heart, the app suggests that you recycle your old Android device “for free” at a nearby Apple Store once the transfer is done and dusted.
This isn’t the last Android app that Apple has planned. Apple Music will arrive on Android later this year.
Move to iOS is free to download from the Google Play Store. The only restriction is that you need a device running Android 4.0 or above and an iOS device to switch to, of course.
