Apple iPhone 7: Water and dust resistance among latest speculation

Apple's iPhone 7 could come with a water resistant feature.
An Apple patent application published by the US Patent and Trademark Office has plans to protect electrical connections with a "self-healing elastomer", Apple Insider reported.
Those substances have the ability to heal themselves after being damaged. The innovation could see connections like the headphone jack covered by the protective substance, which would allow the headphone plug to penetrate the jack and then reseal afterward to mitigate against damage.
A series of rumours emanating from Asia had suggested that Apple was working on a waterproof and dustrproof prototype iPhone 7, Apple Insider said.
The iPhone 7 is being tipped for release next year.
