Apple will unveil a new 10-inch iPad Pro and keyboard on Monday as the company bets big on tablets becoming more work-friendly and laptop-like.

The new iPad Pro will be priced above current 10-inch iPad models and is likely to cost over €700 in Ireland. However, it will have the same higher specification features built in to the company's existing 13-inch iPad Pro.

These include four stereo speakers, a smart connector to go with a smart keyboard and a higher resolution screen that works with Apple's Pencil accessory.

The new tablet will also have Apple's top-end A9X processor under the hood and a 12-megapixel camera capable of 4K video recording.

To make way for the new tablet, existing stocks of iPad Air 1 devices are currently being discounted in Irish shops, with €30 off the 10-inch machine.

Apple is also expected to launch a new entry-level iPhone, called the iPhone SE. The four-inch handset will replace the iPhone 5S as Apple's most affordable smartphone. It will have a better 12-megapixel camera and a '3D Touch' screen.
