Sharp rises in the prices of hair gel, wax and spray in October means it is now far more expensive to get the Jedward look. Hair products rose by a hefty 3.9 per cent last month, according to new data.
Prices have begun to tick upwards after nearly two years of falling costs. Cosmetics have turned the corner, with lipstick and foundation prices jumping 0.2 per cent. Personal grooming products have also risen sharply this year,, going up 4.6 per cent.
The latest Sunday Independent/KBC cost of living survey today reveals that the middle classes and first-time buyers are being hardest hit, with their cost of living rising up to seven times faster than the national average.
