Why you need to be a zebra and a cheetah in business

How to make sense of the concrete jungle we’re all living in, from family life to work life?  We’re all swimming in the current of life and trying to make people pay attention to us in business, but how can you make that happen?

According to Colby Jubenville, who is a lecturer and mentor in Leadership and Business in Nashville, it’s about standing out from the crowd.  His most recent book, called Zebras & Cheetahs, is about looking different and staying agile in business and the Ready Business show caught up with him on a recent visit to Ireland.

“Zebras looks differently at themselves and their business, while cheetahs focus on seeing and seizing the opportunity,” explained Jubenville.  “If you want a better outcome, then have a better conversation with yourself and those around you.  It starts with your mindset, starting with do, and making incremental change.”

Another business mentor who couldn’t be further from Nashville but who teaches just as strong a message is Paraic O’Maille from Galway.   He has been helping individuals and organisations realise more of their potential for a number of years through his Smacht Academy and the six key disciplines which he explained in more detail to the Ready Business listeners and which are:
