Brave Media and Tour America win SME gongs at Social Media Awards
Awards sponsored by Bord Gais and Independent.ie last night at Bord Gais Energy Theatre
Two new categories dedicated exclusively to SMEs were introduced to the 2014 Bord Gáis Energy Social Media Awards.
Hosted this evening by RTÉ 2FM DJ, Rick O’Shea at Dublin's Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, accolades for the Best Blog by an SME and Use of Social Media by an SME were up for grabs for the first time at the 'Sockies'.
Sponsored by .Me Registry, Brave Media claimed the award for Best Blog while Tour America took home the prize for best Use of Social Media by an SME.
But perhaps the biggest winner of the night overall was Centra Ireland, which not only won awards in three of the 20 categories in this year’s Awards (Integrated Facebook Campaign, Best Business/Organisation Twitter Campaign and Integrated Social Media Campaign) – but the Cork-based retailer also won the main award of the evening, the Grand Prix.
First launched in 2011, the Bord Gáis Energy Social Media Awards recognise Irish companies for their innovative and business-focused use of social media and are open to all businesses across the country.
Another other new category introduced to this year’s Awards - Best Experimental Format - was won by Essential French.
