The Royal Baby was the most searched for term on Yahoo! in the last year, with the iPhone, Kindle and iPad also in the top ten.

In its review of 2013, Yahoo! has also published a list of “most search 2013 obsessions”, which includes Twerking, Candy Crush Saga, Andy Murray, and BBC Breakfast presenter and Strictly Come Dancing contestant Susanna Reid.

iPhone topped the 10 most searched terms in technology, with Playstation 4 and Xbox One only fifth and sixth respectively, despite massive interest surrounding their launches this month.

The study also found One Direction to be the most searched celebrities, Wimbledon champion Andy Murray and footballer Gareth Bale the most searched sports people, and Big Brother the most searched for TV program.

House prices were also the sixth most searched for term in total across 2013.

Yahoo! has also published the 10 most asked questions on Yahoo search.

The questions included: “When do the clocks change?”; “How to make money?”; “How old is Cher?”; “What is twerking?”; “What is my IP address?”; and “What does the fox say?”, a dance song and viral video by Norwegian comedy duo Ylvis.
