Plans to redevelop the Cork GAA stadium were approved last week but sketches of the new arena have now been released.
The modernisation of the grounds will be the first phase of the €67 million redevelopment of Marina Park in the Cork Docklands, approved last week by Cork City Council.
The local construction sector is set to get a well-needed €22m boost from the project, creating more than 300 jobs for the duration, an estimated two years.
A full-sized all weather pitch outside the stadium is set to be developed adjacent to the stadium that will be available for county teams and local clubs alike.
Other facilities on the grounds will include a museum, kiosks and catering, to encourage use of the new park even on non-match days.
The project, which proposes a capacity increase from 43,500 to 45,000, will go for planning permission in October.
