IF you've any spare cash left over after the festive season, ease the financial shock of next Christmas by snapping up the leftover stock which retailers are flogging it off now.

Many retailers are selling artificial Christmas trees for half-price -- which could easily save you €50. Clerys has reduced the price of its 210cm Dakota Pine tree from about €180 to €90.

If you've no interest in artificial trees, you could save your €50 by snapping up discounted Christmas decorations and cards. Debenhams, for example, is selling a set of six black and gold luxury crackers for €14.10 -- down from €47. The retailer's Aynsley China Santa ornament with his list of toys has been reduced from €47.60 to €29.75.

And in Clerys, you'll get a 12-pack of Christmas charity cards for €5.39 -- that's down from €8.99.
