Mother-of-two Emma Leahy said that by switching mobile phone providers, she and her husband Dan are making monthly savings of €90.

The couple, who live in Co Cork, recently switched from Vodafone as they had been spending up to €60 a month each on bill pay contracts for several years.

"We were both on Vodafone bill pay, paying €65 and €55 each a month, and we switched to Tesco Mobile pay as you go - now we pay €15 each every 30 days," the 31-year-old explained.

"We also just cancelled our broadband with Vodafone and will get the pay-as-you-go option again from Tesco. Vodafone was €35 a month and Tesco is only €15 every 30 days."

She said that moving providers had an extra incentive, as it contributes to points in the family's Tesco club card scheme.

"This can be used then towards the ferry to France or boost points for days out," Emma added.
