Property prices up 7.6pc year-on-year - but fell in January
PROPERTY prices fell in the month of January, but were still up when compared with a year ago.
New figures from the Central Statistics Office show that prices fell by 0.5pc nationally in January.
They were up 7.6pc on a year ago, the Central Statistics Office said this morning.
In Dublin, residential property prices fell by 1.2pc in January, and were 3.4pc higher than a year ago.
Dublin house prices were down on the month, but and were 3.2pc higher compared with a year earlier. Dublin apartment prices were almost 5pc higher when compared with the same month of 2015.
Outside the capital, the price of residential properties rose by just 0.1pc in January compared with a decrease of 0.9pc in January of last year.
Prices were 11.4pc higher than in January 2015.
