The TV personality and fitness author tells Andrea Smith about her favourite purchases
My George Foreman Family Grill (€59,99, DID.ie) was a great purchase last year in terms of convenience. I'm always looking for easier ways to be healthy that fit in with my hectic schedule and life, and I use it to death, especially if I want quick and healthy food asap. I grill almost all my meat and vegetables on it, and it's a real life-saver.
If you're a travel addict like me, a cool pair of shades is a must. I picked up these black Ray-Ban Clubmaster sunglasses (€169, LittlewoodsIreland.ie) and have got great wear from these bad boys already this year, that's all I can say.
My brother got me the Game of Thrones box set (€60, Seasons 1-5, Tesco.ie) for Christmas. It's my favourite show, and I ended up binge-watching four seasons and came out the other side looking like Tom Hanks in Castaway. If you haven't seen it, you're missing out - that is if you love dragons, battles and magic, of course.
My ultimate investment piece is the Olympus Pen EPL7 (€479.98, Currys.ie). I spent roughly a year researching cameras before I took the plunge, and have literally used it to death since I made the purchase in September. My photography skills have improved so much, along with my passion for taking photographs. Whether I'm hiking, travelling across the globe or filming fitness videos, this camera does it all, plus I adore its retro design. It was worth every cent.
I've suffered with eczema my entire life, with breakouts being almost unpredictable, even with my healthy lifestyle and clean diet. I've tried almost all skincare brands, and learned that expensive isn't always better. I stumbled upon Nivea Daily Essentials Rich Daily Moisturiser for sensitive skin (€3.35, McCabesPharmacy.com) after a breakout emergency, and I'm now addicted to this inexpensive wonder.
A strong woman should wear a strong smell. I'm addicted to Tom Ford Black Orchid perfume (€96, BrownThomas.com), and feel a million bucks when I wear it. It comes out for special occasions, or if I want to make a big impression on somebody.
I've caught the travel bug, and my most recent adventure saw me visit Istria in Croatia (Dublin to Pula from €99.79, AerLingus.com). I rented a car with a girlfriend and we drove along the coast. We stopped off at Sky Fox Adventure Park (from €7) and signed up for a six-metre leap of faith, where you jump off from a huge height. it was terrifyingly amazing and something I'll always remember. They say you'll never regret spending money on a memory, and I firmly believe that.
How to get some of Kelly's favourite things on a smaller budget
We may not have Kelly's killer bod, but we can all try to be bit healthier this summer - in between stuffing our faces with doughnuts to cheer ourselves up when it rains. This Silvercrest kitchen scales is available from Lidl today for €8.99 and it will help us to weigh out all that lovely quinoa and flaxseeds.
If you're a photography fan like Kelly, this fun Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 (€89.99, Camera.ie) is the perfect thing to bring around with you to capture any special moments. The brilliant thing about it is that your pics print off straight away so you can safeguard those precious memories.
Skincare is a priority for all of us, and the BRYT Skincare beauty range (Day moisturiser, €24.17, BeautyBoutique.ie) combines the ancient power of natural antioxidants with the latest science to deliver clean, high-tech skincare. It's free from sulphates and chemical nasties, and suits all skin types.
We may not get a lot of use from them around these parts, but every true Patsy and Eddy knows that cool shades are a must-have. While Kelly is a fan of her Ray-Bans, these Ocean Revo Aviator sunnies (€12, Accessorize) are also Ab Fab.
'Build Your Own Body' by Kelly Donegan is published by Gill Books and is out now, priced at €16.99
