TOURISTS using their phones to surf the internet while abroad will see the cost fall dramatically from July under a new EU directive.
From July it will cost 50 cent per megabyte of download, and a maximum of eight cent per text message.
The maximum charge for phone calls abroad will be cut from 35c a minute to 25c a minute.
From July 2014, the cost will drop even further to 20 cent per megabyte and five cent per text.
